Award	What it means to Portfields pupils
	This award is in recognition of our outstanding science curriculum and the offer we provide to all children. It highlights the science curriculum's position as a core subject at Portfields Primary School and shows our drive to ensure the best possible provision is available to our pupils.
	As part of our personal development programme and throughout our whole curriculum, we are constantly looking to deepen pupils' understanding of spiritual, moral, social and cultural education (SMSC). Through these common aims, we ensure that all pupils are ready to take their places as responsible, respectful and active citizens.
	As a School of Sanctuary we are committed to ensuring that our children learn about what it means to be a sanctuary and why seeking sanctuary is sometimes necessary. We are proud to be a school that welcomes and includes all pupils whatever their background or circumstance.
	This award recognises our commitment to investing in our staff. We believe that happy, supported staff make for happy, supported children and this underpins everything we do at Portfields.
