Our House System
Our House System
At Portfields Primary School, every child belongs to one of our three houses: Orange, Green or Purple. To help foster a sense of family and community, siblings are always placed in the same house.
Throughout the year, children earn house points for demonstrating our 3 Bees, living our Bridge Values, and achieving success in their learning. These individual contributions all help their house work towards collective success, encouraging teamwork, pride and a shared sense of achievement.
House points can also be earned through a range of exciting competitions and events, including Sports Day, quizzes and other whole-school challenges. These opportunities allow children to represent their house, develop new skills and enjoy healthy competition with their peers.
At Portfields, we believe that competition can be a powerful force for good. It encourages children to strive for their personal best, show resilience and celebrate the achievements of others. Just as importantly, we teach our pupils the value of being a humble winner and a gracious loser, demonstrating respect, sportsmanship and kindness whatever the outcome.
Our house system plays a vital role in creating a strong sense of belonging, school spirit and community, while bringing out the very best in every child.
At Portfields, we believe that children should be curious about their learning.
We love being part of a house. It brings our school together as one big community. It's great to see how the younger children are doing and celebrate in their successes.
